On the Other Side
Join us on Wednesday 25 April 2007 at Emily Carr Institute for VFCPUG’s post-NAB 2007 meeting. John Christie and I will discuss the major news from the show and offer our thoughts on what it means for Final Cut editors.
I’m flying down to Vegas tomorrow and will be working in the Apple Classroom again this year. If you’re going to be attending the show, please stop by to say hello - it’s such a big event, it’s always nice to see a friendly face!
If last year was anything to go by, it will be a hectic few days but I’ll endeavour to post updates when I’m able.
Beyond that I’ll see the rest of you on the 25th! Doors open at 7 for a 7:30 start. The school semester is out and we’re back in the larger space, RM 260.
UPDATE 22 April 2007: A lot has changed recently - Premiere has come back to the Mac, 8-core Mac Pro workstations are shipping, and Final Cut Studio 2 made its debut at the Apple Special Event last Sunday.
In addition to all the news and updates we’ll have a demonstration of working with the Matrox MXO, as well as annoncements of forthcoming special events with Larry Jordan and Diana Weynand!

I’ll make a valiant attempt to come to the meeting on the 25th. If you have the time stop by the RED booth and say hi to Graeme Nattress. He’ll be there first thing Monday morning. Good luck at NAB and have a safe journey there and back.

Wow! It was quite the Apple event today, huh? Really looking forward to hearing your thoughts about the new Final Cut Studio 2 when you get back. Especially about Motion now that it’s gone 3D.
I don’t know if you will be keeping tabs on your web site here while you’re in Vegas but I have a FCP user that wants to attend the meeting on the 25th. He wants to know if he needs to contact anyone or if he can just show up at 7PM.
