Apple have posted a new KB article, “Using Fibre Channel switches and hubs with Apple Fibre products”, which addresses configuration of technologies commonly used within Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Area Storage (NAS) installations. The document specifically addresses different hardware requirements and the steps required to ensure constant communication between connected devices. If you’re working with Xsan or other systems that utilise fibre, it may be worth reviewing the article to confirm that you’re setup is appropriate to your needs.
