Gutted

The race to be the first to dismantle every new Mac is a curious one—it clearly takes a particular mindset to perform the operation itself and I can only imagine what posting the resulting pictures does to your bandwidth!

If you’re at all curious about what a shiny new Mac Pro looks like in pieces, PowerMax, an Authorised Reseller* in Oregon have already meticulously stripped down one of the new systems and uploaded the evidence in all its gory, glistening detail.

*Which I suspect means taking apart and rebuilding Macs is an everyday occurrence and a different league to the amateur “deconstructionists” out there…

Those sick fiends and that poor poor Mac Pro. But I guess they do know what they are doing. That’s an expensive paper weight if they fry something though. Interesting to see all the bits though.

Question though, that sort of square/rectangular port on the front (also one on the back), what is it? Its not USB, not firewire…

cheers.

I believe that would be FireWire 800, sir.

If you take a look at the Mac Pro Design page, you can get a good look.
