Best Big Plug-in

Those of you who’ve been following this blog for a while might recall my previous note of admiration for Dion Scoppettuolo at Apple. If that’s so you can probably imagine how thrilled I was to discover his new online seminar, “Shake: Advanced Digital Compositing & Integration with Final Cut Studio” on the Apple web site.

Over 24-minutes Dion provides an overview of the application and demonstrates some of the core features, as well as outlining some of the key advantages for FCP editors who are integrating Shake into their projects. Given how intimidating Shake can seem, it’s no small achievement that it seems accessible and straightforward here. If you’ve been curious about the buzz around this application and you’d like to advance your compositing skills, this is a good opportunity to see Shake in action.
