Ken Stone has three new articles today, “Using Replace Edit in Final Cut”, “Video To iPod”, and a review of “DVFilm Maker”.
Like Andrew Balis, I’m a fan of the Replace edit. His comprehensive tutorial on this excellent, but inconspicuous FCP feature will get novice users up and running in no time, as well as offer more seasoned editors some tips.
Meanwhile Ken’s been busy “playing” with his new video-capable iPod. He’s compiled a detailed set of instructions for how to best encode your files for playback on the ubiquitous portable media player—including a useful rationale to help you pick between MPEG-4 and H.264.
Last, but not least is, Steve Douglas, who’s been been testing a video conversion tool called DVFilm Maker. He sounds very impressed with its feature set, which includes advanced deinterlacing, frame rate conversion, and image enhancement. He commends the apps overall ease of use, as well as the price tag.
