Color 1.0.1
I’ve encountered a fair amount of muttering about the initial release of Apple’s new flagship grading application, Color. Most of it relates to issues that appear to have carried across from its days as Final Touch. With that said, hopefully one can take the long list of modifications to Color 1.0.1 as a sign that Apple is listening and that the Color team is intent on addressing the outstanding problems.
Once you have installed Pro Application Update 2007-01, you should be able to access Color 1.0.1. New in this release is support for drop-frame timecode, the 3-way Color Corrector from FCP*, improved EDL functionality, floating point rendering on NVIDIA hardware, fixes for numerous settings, and support for 960 x 720 resolution media.
If you’re using Color you should make a point of reading the complete document as it also lists a number of known issues, such as inconsistent display of Mixed Format Timelines and nested sequences, as well problems with Notes and Final Touch projects.
