We’re shaking things up at Emily Carr Institute next month with the introduction of the 5-day FCP 200 certification course, “A Comprehensive Study of Final Cut Pro 5”. To this point we’ve tended to offer the more intensive 3-day FCP 101 course, which is great for people who come in from out of town, but does require I keep one eye on the clock. With the longer course, I’m looking forward to a change of pace and an opportunity to explore some of the features with more depth.
The course runs 29 May-02 June and is CA$1250 (+GST). As with the FCP 101 course, the fee includes the certification exam and Diana Weynand’s, APTS: Final Cut Pro 5 book from Peachpit Press.
In other certification-related news, along with everything else that’s been happening over the last few weeks, I’ve been busy studying to take the FCP Level 2 and Level 3 Trainer certification exams. Well, I’m pleased to report that I’ve passed both and can now teach the “Advanced Editing Techniques in Final Cut Pro 5” and “Advanced Color & Finishing in Final Cut Pro 5” courses. There are no dates currently scheduled, but if you’re interested in taking either course drop me a line and I’ll take it to the powers-that-be to what the timetable can accommodate.
