Chronicle

Apple have posted coverage of their activities at NAB 2007, including a photo gallery, which features images of the Classroom where I’m working.

I’m really enjoying a lot of the classroom sessions this year. It’s going to feel very strange to step away from the new applications for a few weeks while we wait for Final Cut Studio 2 to ship!

Last year I was impressed by the demo I saw of Final Touch (RIP) and, not surprisingly, the crowds in the booth are similarly enthralled by Color. That Apple have taken an application that previously cost several thousand dollars and have now packaged it with Final Cut is absolutely remarkable and signals a very clear statement of intent!

Similarly new features in Motion and Soundtrack Pro also redefine what we’ll be capable of achieving. There’s a lot of chatter about Motion, especially around the new 3D features. 5.1 mixing in Soundtrack Pro, as well as the new, streamlined interface and the conform feature have also got the crowds buzzing.

Everyone that uses FC Studio up here on the Canadian WET coast is also exceedingly excited. I can hardly wait for next Wed. @ ECI.
